With regard to contract farming in poultry industry the economic links between companies and those in the farming industry have increased exceptionally in the last two decades. This research study focuses on the effect of Integrator Involvement and Grower Involvement, in the production of broilers by contract in Malaysia and determines how integrator involvement and grower involvement, regulated by management skills, impacts business performance. The study explores the relationship between Integrator and grower involvement and business performance by answering the following four research questions: does any relationship exists between product innovativeness, product modularity and internal coordination variables with regard to business performance; which variable involving the integrator has the greatest impact on the performance of a business; which variables between the involvement of the Integrator and the Grower affect business performance; and does the level of managerial skills have any moderating effect on business performance?
