David Peace earned a degree from Manchester Polytechnic. In 1991 he moved to Istanbul to serve as a professor of English, a position he would later continue in Tokyo from 1994 to 2009. In 2003, David Peace was included in Granta magazine's list of the twenty best British authors. He is also the author of GB84 and Red Riding.
