The purpose of this study was to find out the influence of traditional circumcision on the male adolescents' personality and their academic performance in Nandi North District. The study was conducted in the secondary schools within the district. The researcher targeted form three male students who formed a target population of one thousand six hundred and eighty (1680). The district had a total of thirty- five (35) district secondary schools. The researcher purposively sampled twelve schools (two each from the six (6) educational divisions in the district) from which a total of five hundred and five (505) subjects formed a sample population. The researcher used two different types of instruments to collect data, a questionnaire and two interview schedules. The former was administered on students while the latter were used on teachers and key resource persons. The questionnaire was piloted in one school, which was not among sample schools before being administered to the real sample. The pre-testing helped to ascertain the reliability and validity of the instrument.
