Shannon Melissa Evans was born in Baldwin Park California on June 15, 1973, and was raised in a small town in the Mojave desert called Twenty Nine Palms. Her artistic talent emerged when she was 7 when she won her first art contest at the Alamo Market. By the age of 12, she began writing. Fearing that her grammar skills were lacking, she felt the best way to express herself artistically was through sketching and making pottery. By 15, the High Desert Nature Museum had her drawings and pottery on display, and she began teaching art classes in the community. In May of 2014, Shannon moved to West Memphis, Arkansas where she has established herself as a local artist and avid gardener. She has shared many mediums through the design of pottery, recycled and repurposed jewelry, photography, driftwood sculptures, and even wind chimes. She enjoys painting with acrylics, oils, and watercolors as well as natural products. Currently, her works are on display at Canvas Art Bar in Memphis, Tennessee and Christine's Emporium in West Memphis, Arkansas. She has participated as an artist in the Delta Arts event," Art on the Levee" at the Waverly Plantation in Proctor, Arkansas and was the Coordinator for "Art and the Park," an event held in West Memphis and sponsored by Christine's Emporium. Shannon keeps herself busy teaching art classes, taking guitar lessons, writing songs, and finishing her degree in Theology. However, her greatest love is helping others find happiness within themselves. She believes that children are the future and keeps autism as a cause close to her heart. Her dream is to enjoy life's dance by creating lines without limitations while using colors and music to speak to one's inner child. Shannon is also the writer of the song "I Do", which was recorded and performed by singer Shara Layne Matlock. She recently moved to Puryear, Tennessee. She loves her new communities in nearby Paris, Tennessee and Murray, Kentucky!
