Produktbeschreibung
The North Caucasus is a land of wonderful mountain nature, where it has been preserved in its almost pristine form. People inhabiting these places have their own special attitude towards nature, which was formed over many centuries. The book presented by V. Romanenko discusses the evolution of views on the problem of human attitudes to nature in the mountains from ancient times to our time. The author analyzes epic and folklore monuments of the past, literary and artistic creations of Russian classics, works of poets and writers of the North Caucasus of the 19th-20th centuries. One of the main results of this analysis is that mountain dwellers inherited moral norms of attitude towards nature from epic ideas. It is the richest epic heritage that became the basis of North Caucasian poetry. The chapter devoted to the study of astronomical images in mythology and folklore offers an original interpretation of the phenomenon of rock arches in the mountains as man-made structures of sun worshipers. The book is undoubtedly interesting for teachers, students and postgraduates studying philology, philosophy and ecology. It is also interesting for anyone who is interested in the history of literature.
