The book tackles the idea of mandomination and woman emancipation in the writings of the contemporary Afro- American writer Alice Walker in three main novels which are The Color Purple, The Third Life of Grange Copeland, and Meridian She focuses on the sufferings of women in the male world, and their attempts to achieve freedom and emancipation in addition to shedding light on the origin and development of the English novel and its main writers in the different ages.
