Increasing challenges in the healthcare industry and health demographics in the GCC, particularly in the United Arab Emirates, such as population growth, aging populations, increasing health-risk factors and increasing cost pressure require different approaches and therefore offer new business opportunities. This dissertation studies, discusses and develops a possible approach towards increasing the quality of care while decreasing the costs and time for care through Managed Equipment Services (MES) in the GCC. The UAE was taken as a representative country for the GCC. Due to variations between the healthcare industry of each Emirate, the evaluation was further focused on Abu Dhabi. As the capital of UAE and due to its strong economic performance and representative demographics, Abu Dhabi has been found to have the best healthcare industry for evaluation. Conceptual pricing, ownership, stakeholder, and service model has been developed for MES that could then be adapted to the GCC region.
