Diversity management is an important part of every workforce environment; it is intended to create and maintain a positive work environment where similarities and differences are valued, accepted and respected. Diversity and its function in the workplace have recently received increased recognition as related to lesbians, gays, and transgenders. Although these issues are important, the inclusion of minority women in top leadership roles in the federal government is still a glaring problem that simply will not go away. What are the advantages of diversity, when over 50%% of the Federal Government consist of white males, and 85%% of women occupy clerical positions?
