The general objective of our work is to evaluate the knowledge of households in the Himbi neighborhood on plastic waste management. To carry out our work, we used descriptive and quantitative methods. Our sample consisted of 155 household managers. Our study was conducted from April to June 2009, a period of 2 months. The participants were selected only in the Himbi district and this by the method of mapping with a pen. They were interested and well educated about the study so that they could participate in our study, after a free awareness. The evaluation of the knowledge on the management of plastic waste among the participants and a survey by questionnaire allowed us to evaluate this knowledge of the households of the Himbi district on the management of plastic waste. The objectives of the survey were: 1 To verify if the population is informed about the disposal of plastic waste. 2 To ensure the presence of a common policy on plastic waste management. 3 To identify the consequences of poor plastic waste management.
