Tertiary Education Institutions irrespective of size, whether public or private, have their primary objectives as teaching, learning and research, thus have the mandate to admit and train students. In order to achieve these objectives they generate records and information relating to their students for administrative and educational purposes. The book is the result of a study which examined to which extent management principles are applied to records management practices in selected two tertiary institutions in Lagos Metropolis, Nigeria. The study concluded that records management practices in the selected tertiary institutions needs drastic improvement, and that the first step towards improvement is the formulation of a policy to guide records management practice, and recommended that; formulation of records management policy, development of infrastructures, and training (and re-training) of records management personnel and adequate budgetary funding is the way out.
