However, for the most part in the past and still to a large extent in the present, there has been much less research and discussion on the treatment of vertical problems.A large variation in craniofacial growth in the vertical dimension should play a prominent role in orthodontist's approach to the diagnosis and treatment of malocclusion. The relevance of assessing the vertical dimension to clinical practise is to determine if there is a vertical component contributing to the development of a problem.Treatment of the Vertical Dimension of the face is one of the most challenging areas in Orthodontics.
