Autorenporträt
Hatem A. Azim Jr. is a medical oncologist, completed his medical oncology training at the National Cancer Institute in Cairo and the European Institute of Oncology in Milan before joining the Jules Bordet Institute in Brussels in 2009. Since 2012, he has been serving as the associate scientific director of the BrEAST Data Centre to guide late drug development in the field of breast cancer. He is also leading lab-based researches interrogating the biology of breast cancer in young women and the implications of pregnancy using high throughput technologies.   Dr. Azim Jr. holds two Masters Degrees in oncology from Cairo University and University of Newcastle Upon Tyne and a PhD from the Faculty of Medicine at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in Brussels. His main field of research is breast cancer in young women and its relation to pregnancy and fertility. He received several awards including the ESMO Translational Research Award, the ASCO InternationalDevelopment and Education Award and the University of Padua Award for Advances in Breast Cancer. He published around 95 peer-reviewed publications, 7 book chapters, and served as an invited speaker to all major European oncology congresses.
