Richard Kania joined Jacksonville State University in 2005. He served as the department head of Criminal Justice for a number of years and has stayed on as a professor. He had been at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke since 1999, leading their Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice. Kania served in the Army in Berlin and in Vietnam. He also was a city police officer, and that experience led him to direct his focus to a teaching career in criminal justice. Richards P. Davis is a Professor and Department Head for Criminal Justice at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. He also directs JSU's Center for Applied Forensics and Center for Best Practices in Law Enforcement.
