The association between liver disease and diabetes mellitus is well known, the overall prevalence is significantly higher than that expected by a chance association of two very common diseases. In September 2013 a working group of outstanding experts in the field of hepatology, diabetes, nutrition, pharmacology, and specialist in EBM has participated in the development of evidence based guidelines for management of diabetes and liver disease association.
