This study describes how to manage internet clients of an ISP with PPPoE and MikroTik, using freeRadius for centralized AAA (Authentication, Authorization and Accounting). It is based on the work done at AlbaniaOnline ISP (now called Primo). The aim was to give PPPoE service to the internet clients, through MikroTik. This is not difficult and can be implemented easily, however we would like to use freeRadius for AAA, so that we could keep the data of the clients and their settings in a database. MikroTik should be just a dummy box with a simple configuration, so that we can throw it away and replace it by another one at anytime. All the client data (username, password, connection settings etc.) should be stored in the freeRadius database. If they are in a database the client data can be managed easily by an external application as well (by integrating the freeRadius database with the application).
