The more recent advances in the field are all addressed, including assessment of ovarian reserve, new classifications of uterine malformations using three-dimensional ultrasonography, and novel ultrasonographic modalities for the evaluation of tubal patency. Within each chapter, the focus is especially on the performance of the ultrasound examination, with highlighting of useful technical tips. The contributors are acknowledged experts from across the world, and the book will be of value for physicians, ultrasonographers, and other medical staff involved in caring for patients with fertility issues.

Stefano Guerriero MD, Medical Doctor University of Pisa 24 October 1988. Postgraduate in Obstetrics and Gynecology University of Pisa October 1992. He is Full Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Cagliari, Italy where he is the Head of Gynecological Ultrasound. Editor of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology from 2011. His clinical interest and scientific production have focused upon gynecological ultrasound, gynecological endocrinology, assisted reproduction, ovarian cancer, menopause, laparoscopy, endometriosis. His works, as lead author, achieved more than 150 high impact factor, peer-reviewed, Journals as British Medical Journal, American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Fertility and Sterility, Human Reproduction, Menopause, Maturitas, Ultrasound Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is Editor in 2013 of one book published by Springer entitled "Ovarian Neoplasm Imaging. His h-index at May 2016 is 33 (from Scopus). Wellington Martins is Associate Professor at the Ribeirao Preto Medical School, University of Sao Paulo, where he is the Head of Gynecological Ultrasound. He also serves as an Ambassador of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG) in Brazil, and as member of the ISUOG Clinical Standards Committee, and of the Cochrane Gynaecology and Fertility Group.                                                             His main areas of interest are gynaecological ultrasound, reproductive medicine, reproducibility of results, and evidence-based medicine.           He has published more than 180 articles in PubMed indexed journals, and edited two books. He serves as editor for UOG, as member of the editorial board of other seven journals, and as reviewer of other 30. Juan Luis Alcázar, MD, PhD. is Full Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at School of Medicine, University of Navarra, Pamplona, Spain. Member of Editorial Board of journal Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology. His research interest fields are Gynecological Ultrasound, Endometriosis and Gynecologic Oncology. He has authored or co-authored more than 200 papers in peer-review journals (160 in Pubmed Indexed Journals). He has contributed with more than 40 chapters in different books. He has served as reviewer for more than 30 peer-review journals. He has directed 15 doctoral theses.
