Andaman seacoast is one the most beautiful and attractive site in the world. The natural resources in this unique coastal area are composed of mangroves, seagrasses and coral reef. Ranong province is a part of Andaman coastal zone which was encroached by Indian Ocean tsunami in 2004. Many life and properties were destroyed. Mangrove forest also is faced with negative impacts from such giant waves. The coastal environments have been changed since then. As mangroves play a significant role as habitat and niche for various fauna and flora. Thus, mangrove rehabilitation much be conducted via sustainable management plan. Mangrove zonation associated with its dominant species must be determined. The establishment of biodiversity corridor can link the mangrove patches so plants and animals cam freely move across the landscape. The local communities need to participate in mangrove reforestation and restoration activities. Let's protect our mangrove and coastal environment.
