When she meets Galen Sorbach, an aspiring photographer, she hopes she's found a normal boyfriend, for once. She doesn't realize that Galen has been stalking her for latent healing powers, water magick she's used accidentally in large quantities. A fire mage, Galen never mastered water magick. Adelaide's gifts could be the power he needs to depose the Spirit Guardian and become a god. Galen's sister, Kait, has spent 400 years as elemental water guardian. Assigned to subdue Adelaide's magick, Kait delays. Her reluctance allows Galen to manipulate Adelaide and threatens the safety of the person Adelaide loves most, couturier Étienne d'Amille, and his lover, Basilie. These five people - a 400-year-old Irish witch, her adopted psychopathic brother, an American supermodel, a French fashion designer, and his rich ex-wife - find their lives intertwined as they explore how far they will go for love and how much they can forgive.
