In this work Nietzschean anthropology is investigated. The Author is the bearer of a perspective, which remains within philosophical Modernity, according to which the authentic subject is not to be found in the human being, nor in consciousness, but in life. It is the continuous growth that life requires that the real is traversed by the fracture between subject and object. The resulting picture is that of a modern anti-humanist metaphysics in which freedom finds no place.
