Applying the study case of the historical city of Mantova, property inscribed as part of the serial World Heritage Site of Mantova and Sabbioneta, inscribed in 2008, under criteria (ii) and (iii), the following research aims to analyse the process, implications and outcomes of the inscription of Mantova to the World Heritage List and subsequently the benefits for its conservation.
