Vanessa Walker is the former religious affairs writer for The Australian, Australia's national daily newspaper. She is a practicing Buddhist. His Holiness the Dalai Lama is recognized internationally as an advocate of world peace and interreligious understanding. He recieved the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989.
