This Manual of Nursing in Obstetrics, Volume I, was created due to the need to incorporate to the students a scientific method of professional performance, for the care and action in pregnant women, which allows to provide higher quality in the personal care of patients. It is aimed at nursing students, primary health care nurses and post-graduate students, and also serves as reference material for other technicians involved in the Maternal and Child Care Program. It will be a guide for the student to learn how to assess pregnant women, prioritize nursing diagnoses, outline expectations or objectives, and perform nursing interventions with great professional performance.
