"This book is the Spanish translation of "A Field Guide on False Teaching" (Ligonier Ministries, LCCN: 2020934593. The first part to this booklet sets out all that is involved in the task of apologetics by first defining essential Christian beliefs. It calls Christians to engage with falsehood through the clear teaching of Scripture that we are to defend, contend, and proclaim the faith once delivered to all the saints. This first part also serves as an introduction to the booklet as a whole. The second part of this booklet presents the fundamental beliefs of Christian sects, Christian cults, and world religions. Each section covering a specific false teaching overviews the history, major beliefs, major differences with orthodox Christianity, and prompts for Christian engagement. Within the category of false teaching that strays from the historic Christian faith, this booklet focuses on the prosperity gospel, deism, and legalism and antinomianism. Many of these movements, while they may affirm essentials of the Christian faith, obscure the clarity of the gospel of Jesus Christ, deny aspects of God's involvement in the world, and jeopardize the lives of the people who act on these false beliefs. Within the category of Christian cults that pervert and overturn basic Christian doctrines, this booklet focuses on Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormonism, and Christian Science. These movements are labeled cults because their denial of such doctrines as the Trinity entirely removes them from the historic Christian tradition. While they use much of the same language of Christianity, they cannot be properly called Christian. Within the category of world religions and worldviews that deny and compete with the truth claims of Christianity, this booklet focuses on Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, spiritualism and the new age movement, and atheism and secularism. While the existence of world religions points to the reality that all people were created to worship, they pose a threat to the basic truth that no one can be saved apart from the grace of God in Jesus Christ. Worldviews that deny the existence of God need to be exposed for subverting and suppressing the truth of God's revelation in creation of His existence and divine power. Especially as we consider the growth of secularism and Islam, it is vital that Christians know what others believe in order to engage with them in a winsome, intelligent, and sincere manner. The final part of this booklet encourages Christians with the truth that it is God who changes hearts so that they might be confident in sharing their faith. This last section is important because this booklet aims to highlight the vast differences between the historic Christian faith and all forms of false teaching. The gulf that separates Christianity from these aberrant beliefs is so daunting that without the truth that God changes hearts the task that Christians are called to would seem hopeless. The truth that God alone changes hearts prompts us to rely on the Holy Spirit in patience and prayer as we share the good news of Jesus Christ with all people"--
