Manuel Lanzini (born February 15, 1993), nicknamed la joya (in English: the jewel), is an Argentine football attacking midfielder who currently plays for Fluminense. Lanzini made his professional debut as a 17-year old on August 8, 2010, in a 1-0 home win over Tigre, playing 45 minutes. Lanzini played his second match against Club Atlético Independiente, and assisted Rogelio Funes Mori in his second goal. He played 63 minutes before being replaced by Mauro Díaz. River eventually won the Match 3-2. Fluminense have incorporated the youngster on a loan for the 2011-2012 season. Lanzini scored his debut goal as professional on August 31st, 2011, in a Fluminense 2-1 victory over São Paulo, on the Estádio do Morumbi.
