Over the last 2 decades, the present structure of polling units (47) were used in Damaturu metropolis. This structure is still maintained till date despite the increase in population and settlement in the metropolis. These factors have, among other things, made the polling units in the area inadequate or inaccessible by the voters. Polling units (PUs) created with the sole aim to service the registered voters and to a point where new voters registered. The result obtained revealed that the existing PUs in study area were 47. Average nearest neighbour was used to analyse the distribution pattern of PUs which shown is random. The result of the service area analysis revealed that 35 new additional PUs needed in the study area based on cutoff trekking distance at 200m, 400m, and 600m. The analysis should shed some light on the review of polling units from time to time, also should be useful to government or Electoral body for decision making and likewise use ArcGIS for utilizing PUs.
