ANTONIO MONTERO ALCAIDE (Carmona, Sevilla, 1962). Es Inspector de Educación y profesor de la Universidad de Sevilla. Cuenta con numerosas publicaciones referidas a ese desempeño. Inició su actividad literaria como escritor de relatos, continuados con novelas y ensayos. Colabora, como articulista, en distintos medios de prensa. Desde que, en 1991, se publicó su colección de relatos Trébol de cuatro hojas, ha obtenido reconocimientos en distintos premios literarios. El año 1992 comenzó su labor periodística en El Correo de Andalucía, para continuar, desde 1994, en ABC. A partir del año 2012, y hasta la actualidad, colabora en los periódicos del Grupo Joly. Ha reunido parte de sus artículos en tres volúmenes: Tinta visible, Ejercicio de soledad, Porque así es la vida. Historias mínimas de cada día. Cuenta con el XVIII Premio de Periodismo Manuel Fombuena Escudero, el XIII Premio Nacional José y Jesús de las Cuevas, y el V Premio Jorge Manrique de Periodismo. En el año 2022 publicó, en Almuzara, el ensayo histórico y biográfico Pedro I. Un rey castigado por la Historia.
