Humann has tailored each story to be humorous and endearing, teaching universal life lessons such as friendship, community, and safety while empowering children to have positive, "can-do" attitudes. She lives with her husband (and critters) in Nashville, Tennessee. The author and illustrator met in Germany while both were living abroad due to their spouse's U.S. military service.
