Department of Marine Science from Mawlamyine University maintain collections of molluscs for research, educational and public information purposes. The deposited material has considerable historic value because the voucher specimens have been referred to in publications since 1972. However, at the moment many of the specimens have uncertain status. Thanks to funding by Department of Higher Education, and the considerable effort of Marine Science Departments of Pathein, Myeik and Sittwe Universities which have produced individuals catalogues of species, specimens house of Marine Science Department in Mawlamyine University presents voucher material available in those collections and make updated information internationally for the first time. Judgements of the approximately 151 names given to species deposited in Mon coastal area, and or described in the literature, are due to the concerted efforts of resource persons of the Marine Science Department. This book represents part of ongoing efforts to revise and document the malacofauna of Myanmar. Study on marine gastropods were collected from Mon coastal areas from June 2010 to February 2018.
