Author Dave Kohl, provides executives, managers, and entrepreneurs with effective ways to help secure more clients or customers and grow your business through market research. Kohl, once selected as "Business Person of the Year" by the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, brings his 30+ years of sales, marketing, advertising, and teaching experience to this fascinating book. He has averaged more than $1,000,000 per year in advertising sales since 2005, crediting the exact methods he profiles for increasing his income. He shares his secrets on the importance of "keeping track of everything" and knowing how to use it. "The better you are at monitoring your competition, the more you learn about your business", says Kohl. "Knowing when you have a better price or your biggest competitor has made an error while having a ready database of potential customers is huge for increasing business!" It features numerous ways to secure information about your competitors, in any industry, which you can quickly use to your advantage. Readers also learn how to better perform their own tracking of sales, inventory, and trends without spending anything on software or personnel. Among Dave's examples is a "follow up" survey conducted within the neighborhood of a new restaurant. The results provided solid feedback, positive and negative, from people who had recently visited, along with reasons why others in the area had not yet gone to try it. However, Kohl focuses on how it was an established competitor which actually sponsored the survey and gained a wealth of information the new place did not have. Other examples include ways to research similar businesses to your in far away cities and how to find their strong points, while examining your direct competitors to find their weaknesses. More importantly, learn how to maintain this data for months and years to come.
Autorenporträt
Dave Kohl brings his 30+ years of advertising, marketing, sales, and broadcasting experience to his books and his updated blogs on a regular basis. Kohl was chosen "Business Person of the Year" by the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce in 1990. Since 2005, he has personally sold more than $12,000,000 of online, newspaper, and television advertising campaigns to mortgage lenders, banks, and real estate firms. His "Dave Kohl Real Estate Marketing" blog provides a realistic look at both the good and bad of the real estate market and how properties are advertised to consumers. Mr. Kohl's broadcasting experience, including former Chicago radio stations WDHF and WXFM, led to his writing one of the nation's first Sports Media columns for a Midwest based weekly newspaper. This set the stage for "The Broadcast Booth" sports media blog, which he has been writing on a weekly basis since 2008. Earlier, Dave taught a pair of sportscasting courses at Columbia College Chicago for seven semesters when his schedule allowed. In 2014, Kohl's first full-length book, "8 Hours To Sell Your Home" was released in print and as an Audio Book (which literally provides eight hours of instruction!). It details every step a home owner needs to take to sell their home, ranging from what to fix to how much to ask to where to find the best realty agent for the job. 2015 brought Kohl's "Market Research: A Key Competitive Advantage", which reveals numerous strategies for tracking the competition and methods to use the information to gain market share and increase revenue for businesses and business people. There isn't much spare time these days, but Kohl provides as much Media Coaching and public speaking as his schedule allows. He continues as Marketing Director of First In Promotions, based in the Chicago area, a position he has held since September 1992.
