Mara Einstein: Mara Einstein has been working in or writing about the media industry for the past 20 years. She is the author of "Brands of Faith: Marketing Religion in a Commercial Age," a critique of promoting religion in today's consumer-oriented culture. She has been quoted in numerous publications including the "New York Times," "Los Angeles Times," and the "Atlanta Journal Constitution." Einstein has enjoyed stints as an executive at NBC, MTV Networks, and at major advertising agencies working on such accounts as Miller Lite, Uncle Ben's, and Dole Foods. Her first book, "Media Diversity: Economics, Ownership and the FCC," was the cause for much debate when research from this work was used by the FCC to redefine the media ownership rules. In addition to being an associate professor at Queens College, she is also an adjunct associate professor at the Stern School of Business at NYU, as well as being an independent marketing consultant. Joe Rollins: Joe Rollins is associate professor of political science at Queens College and the Graduate Center, CUNY. He received his PhD from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he also taught in the law and society program and the department of sociology. He is the author of "AIDS and the Sexuality of Law: Ironic Jurisprudence." His current project examines changes taking place in the legal language of sexuality. He has served on the board of directors for the CUNY Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies and his work has been published in various scholarly journals.
