India lives in its villages. Rural India is the real India. Most of the population depends on agriculture and it is enable to provide full employment to rural people. Rural people thus migrate to urban areas creating problems to themselves and to the government. Many labour enactments could not provide kind of security to the labour that is available in the rural areas. Hence economist have suggested to set up industrial units in the rural areas to solves the problems of seasonal under employment, utiliazing local resources and also to improve the standard of living of rural masses. It is evident that the rural industries are very important in the economic development of any country because of its inherent advantages like generation of employment with less investment, utilising local resources, sharing more contribution in the production and exports etc., when compare to large and medium industries. The study reveals that rural industries are influencing the entrepreneurship developing through the education, previous occupation, family back ground etc. Many of the rural industries are not following the marketing strategies systematically.
