Autorenporträt

Federico Fliedner (1845-1901), hijo de Theodor Fliedner, el fundador del Kaiserswerth Deaconess Institute, estudió teología en Halle (1864-1866) y obtuvo su Ph.D. en Tubinga (1867). Sirvió como enfermero en la Guerra Austro-Prusiana de 1866. Después de su ordenación en 1870, fue a España como misionero. Sirvió como capellán de la embajada alemana, aprendió el español y contribuyó a levantar la obra que hoy es conocida como la Iglesia Evangélica Española. En 1873 fundó la Librería Nacional y Extranjera, la cual ofrecía una variedad de libros de texto y publicaciones periódicas. Escribió las biografías de importantes visionarios cristianos.
