The ferocity of his campaign probably cost him a degree of support; to some it seemed to border on treason. Akhtar Hussain Sandhu, Associate Professor (History), Journalist and poet. He served under Punjab Govt and taught at nternational Islamic University, Islamabad. Quaid-i-Azam University awarded him with doctoral degree in January 2011. He studied at Punjab University, Quaid-i-Azam University (Pakistan) and University of Southampton, UK.
