Previously, he served as the mayor of Baltimore from 1999 to 2007. O'Malley attended Our Lady of Lourdes School in Bethesda and Gonzaga College High School. He went to college at The Catholic University of America, graduating in 1985. Later that year he enrolled at the University of Maryland School of Law in Baltimore, earning his JD in 1988 and passing the bar that same year.
