Alicia Coleman grew up in the rural small-town called Saluda in South Carolina. She struggled academically and behaviorally in school due to childhood trauma. However, Alicia found solace in writing poetry, short stories and scripts for plays. Feeling called to help others, in High school she began volunteering at the Special Olympics and tutoring illiterate adults at the Saluda Adult Education program. After graduating from High school, Alicia left the comfort of her hometown to begin her college journey at Benedict College as a first generational student. During her college years Alicia became a mother. Becoming a single mother was taxing but she managed to pursue her dreams. Refusing to quit even after being diagnosed with neurological disease Gullian Barre' Syndrome, she graduated with a bachelor's in social work. Shortly after, Alicia Coleman was licensed by the SC Board of Social Work Examiners. She moved backed to her hometown and working with low income families. Aspiring to better service the marginalized, Alicia enrolled in graduate school. She earned her master's degree in Mental Health Counseling. Authored her first book. Shortly after delivering her third child tragedy struck again. Alicia was diagnosed with Congestive Heart failure but recovered miraculously within a year. While balancing motherhood and marriage, in 2009 Alicia answered the calling of ministry. She begun doing outreach ministries, hosting conferences, managing and consulting Christian artist under the company name Anointed Enterprises Management Company. In 2010. She launched Alicia Coleman Projects, LLC a social service organization with the mission of empowering marginalized populations. Where she provides motivational speaking, assist churches with programs, incorporation, assist non-profit organization with fundraising and gives an "Against all Odds" academic scholarship to single parents pursuing higher education. Alicia has volunteered at Beyond Abuse a trauma-based counseling agency that serves sexually abused clients in Greenwood SC. She is a Guardian ad Litem in South Carolina and serves as a Board member for the A Voice for the Children Foundation, Inc. In addition, Alicia is also a Certified as Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Trainor by Cornell University and is currently employed as a Community based prevention specialist.
