"Matasha's Shell" was a few years evolving. Often when I worked in my hairdressing salon I would take time out to walk along the beach. I always looked at the different shells as I walked through the waves and felt a certain magic not really knowing why. One Valentine's Day while out walking with Gerry, I decided to go for a swim. I felt so refreshed and inspired afterwards that I knew that I was ready to write my story. I stayed in my room for about four hours and Matasha finally came to life. She has a happy disposition and no matter what her circumstances she always manages to make the most of where she is and find a happy outcome or solution, even though she encounters a lot of adverse events she is not expecting. Through the acceptance of her new life she finally gets to go back to her beloved home and friends. Her unexpected encounter with Sharms changes Matasha's destiny forever. Sharms agrees to fly Matasha back to her birth place on his back. Sharms eventually swoops down to a place Matasha felt was calling her home. She scoops the shell from the ocean depths, asking Sharms to place at the highest point. The beautiful light from the shell with its warm luminous glow radiates for many miles, from the ocean depths to the mountain tops and the vast bush land.
Autorenporträt
Hi my name is Patricia but I get called Trish for short. I was born at Henley Beach in South Australia. I grew up in the 1950s. This was the era before telephones, television, laptops or iPads. We grew up when writing letters, listening to the radio, going to the theatre and reading books was very much in vogue. It was the days when Elvis and the Beatles were always singing on the radio. My Mother Thelma encouraged us to use our imagination and would regularly read to my brother and I. Grims Fairy tales and Enid Blyton stories were among my favourites but there were many others of which I have fond memories and can still be found in my book case today. I always enjoyed English and writing at school. I attended Henley High for a year before I changed to Thebarton Tech College. After a few years there I started a five year hairdressing apprenticeship. I attended trade school and eventually ran my own business at a place called Grange which was right neat the beach. In my twenties I started writing poems and short stories and have always enjoyed the process .Also attended art classes for about five years. Yoga is very much part of my life every day and for me the benefits are many. I live with my husband Gerry in our home in South Australia.
