The book focuses attention on Pastoralism in American contemporary poetry and in particular the poems of Wendell Berry and Linda Hogan using the theory of Material Ecocriticism in order to analyze the techniques and the literary tradition used by each poet as well as the pastoral themes evoked in their works which questions the relationship between man and nature. These two contemporary authors hive a new dimension of our readings to the patoral tradition and offer us a new journey into the universe in which man is no longer the center.
