In Brazil, and specifically in the state of Amazonas, there is a greater incidence of river transportation due to the fact that there is a rich and extensive waterway potential in the region in question, as well as the absence of other modes of transportation. In this context, the municipality of Parintins is located in the interior of the state, as it is an island and the city is restricted to just two modes of transport, river and air. Because it is the cheapest and most viable mode of transportation inthe municipality, companies choose river transportation to obtain and transport their goods.
