This research work deals with the materials most commonly used in pediatric dentistry as pulp protectors. Pulp caps are biomaterials that cover the pulp floor and axial walls of the cavity preparation acting as a protective barrier between the restorative material and the tooth. The most common cause of pulp capping in the deciduous dentition is extensive caries without pulp involvement and with pulp communication in a 42% prevalence in children from 2 years of age.
