Silvia Battista is Senior Lecturer in performance and theatre studies at Liverpool Hope University, UK. Her research focuses on the intersection between visual art, performance and theatre, particularly on the use of meditative, contemplative and ecstatic practices as creative and epistemological processes in performative cultural praxis. David Mason is Chair of Theatre and Director of Asian Studies at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN. He is a board member of the Association for Asian Performance, and a founding member of the Performance and Religion working group of the International Federation for Theatre Research.
