Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2007 im Fachbereich Politik - Politische Theorie und Ideengeschichte, Note: 1,7, Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Universität Greifswald (Institut für Politikwissenschaft), Veranstaltung: Hauptseminar: Max Weber, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: This work pointed out Max Weber s preference for a formal rational modern capitalism overan irrational socialism in economic action. In contrast to a planned economy Weberconcedes that the private enterprise have an objectified rationality which means thepresence of free markets and a calculable legal system. According to Weber capitalism as aneconomic system with its concept of rationality is mainly characterized by accumulatingmoney and capital to deal with profit. A planned economy with its natural accounting anddependence on demand is not suitable for a meaningful productive management. In a socialist economy Weber constitutes a rational deficit because of the absence of moneyand therefore no objectiveness. Nevertheless Weber had an affirmative attitude to a politicalsocialism though with qualification.
