The 4th book in the McAlister Line: After recovering from injuries suffered at Dien Bien Phu, Danny is straight back into action in Saigon via Taipei. The 17th Parallel has just been created with the communists to the North. But South Vietnam is awash spies and agents from the CIA, MI6 and other secret service types from the West, but especially Russian, Chinese and with North Vietnamese infiltrators, all vying to fill the, soon to be, power vacuum currently being created by the French who are starting to pull out of Indochina. Still flying for CAT airlines, commonly referred to as the most shot-at airline in the world, Monty and Angela join him as they plunge headlong into another non-stop, breathtaking odyssey which spreads across five continents, landing in one desperate scrape after another. Finally all three make heart-breaking decisions which ultimately define their true allegiance.
Autorenporträt
Richard Marman was born in Swindon, UK. His father was a RAF pilot who had served with distinction during WWII. His family moved from base to base after the war, including four years in Germany. They immigrated to Fremantle in 1962. Richard attended six primary and three secondary schools, so he is familiar with the 'new kid on the block' status. After school, Richard joined the Royal Australian Air Force and trained as a pilot. He served for nine years, including a tour in Vietnam and a significant time flying in New Guinea. In 1975 Richard left the RAAF to fly with Ansett Airlines until the company closed in 2001 at which time he was a Boeing 767 captain. Afterwards he trained Singapore Airlines cadets on Lear Jets until 2007. Leaving aviation behind, Richard completed a Diploma of Visual Arts at Tewantin TAFE and a Bachelor of Arts at the University of the Sunshine Coast, majoring in creative writing and graphic design. Many of Richard's book ideas stemmed from University projects and places he's visited worldwide. Richard lives on Queensland's Sunshine Coast with his wife Judy. They have twin daughters living interstate. For more information visit: www.richardmarman.net and www.richardmarman.com
