A menina Mariyama Abdulai Kumah nasceu a 21 de Março de 1982 em Accra, Gana. Foi educada no Ghana National College, Cape Coast. Recebeu a sua primeira licenciatura e mestrado em Estudos de Informação na Universidade do Gana, Legon. Actualmente é Assistente da Biblioteca Principal na Biblioteca Sam Jonah, Universidade de Cape Coast.
