In the main part of this work, a comprehensive numerical investigation is carried out. The aim is to derive a basic understanding about the mechanical behavior of an IGU (insulating glass unit) during the cold bending process. This work especially focuses on single-bent and double-bent IGUs. Moreover, the simulations also take heed of the edge-zone by not simplifying it too much during the calculation. All results are obtained by taking material contact interaction, geometrical non-linear effects and plasticity for spacer's material into account.
