The studies analyzed on the agro-productive mechanisms implemented in Central America indicate that they have resulted in the incorporation to sustainable management and conservation of more than 870,000 ha. of forest, the favoring of more than 2.8 million agro-producers and the development of more than 65 public policy instruments (strategies, policies, plans, programs, projects, laws, new institutions). Several studies around the world show that the articulation of the identified agro-productive mechanisms has positive effects, either compensatory (resilience) or mitigating (reducing vulnerability), in the face of adverse climate effects. However, we must strengthen the articulation of synergies and promote agro-productive mechanisms in an appropriate, sufficient and relevant manner.
