Produktbeschreibung
This research assesses enforcement mechanisms of construction and public buildings policies, proclamation, regulation and directive with particular reference to their disability specific provisions in Addis Ababa city administration. However, there remain low pragmatic inquisitions on enforcement mechanisms of construction policy and building proclamation from disability perspective. The data accounted in this study is gathered from persons with hearing, visual and physical types of disabilities; two bureaus and one authority of the city administration: namely Construction, Labor and Social Affairs and Construction permit and Control Authority. The findings shows that the implementation status of these enforcement mechanisms is at very low stage due to several factors as lack of awareness, attitude, technical, administrative as well as coordination problems. The city government and its stakeholders are recommended to address areas of gaps in order to improve implementation statusof the policy goals thereby increasing participation, contribution and gain of the disabled persons from the socioeconomic, political as well as cultural societal spheres of life.
