While not always successful, the emergence of this new policy effected the development of diplomatic ties with these new nations. This resulted in the absence of significant diplomatic leverage, proving fatal in the late 1930's when the new system of nations was disintegrating as a result of escalating violence.

Miklós Lojkó is a Ph.D graduate of the University of Cambridge, and is currently Senior Lecturer at the School of English and American Studies of Eötvös Loránd University as well as Academic Writing Instructor at the Department of History of the Central European University.
