This paper explained the roles of the media in our society, the concept of election, conflict and how the deviation from these roles result in post- election conflict as well as what the media should do to prevent post-election conflict in Nigeria.

Muhammed Salisu hails from Angwa Ofe-Oda, Ankpa LG, Kogi State, he holds a B.Sc. in Mass Communication from Bayero University, Kano. Currently pursuing a postgraduate program there, he is a lecturer at Federal University, Lokoja, where he teachs Dev Comm., Health Communication, Political Communication, Strategic Communication, and Int'l Comm.
