The media plays an important role in combating and preventing the phenomenon of human trafficking. By publishing materials of various genres and trends on those who have fallen victim to modern-day slave traders, those who have been involved in this criminal activity, and those who are combating this problem, the media convey important information on how to protect themselves from this threat, how it is dealt with in society, and shape attitudes towards victims and criminals, etc. In the work presented, the author analysed the content of newspaper publications in Uzbekistan and Russia on the aforementioned topics, and developed a number of recommendations to address the shortcomings identified.
