This study, at an overall level, is a contribution to the scarce body of knowledge relating to the Sri-Lanka's political and media culture that helps to portray the real character of the established social and political system at large. The author argues, that while the image of men in politics is portrayed as strong, powerful, intelligent and rational, celebrity women are presented as charming, emotional, sympathetic and subservient with a feminine outlook which is traditionally pleasing to men. Wooing the beast of politics in Sri Lanka or in Asia is not a cakewalk especially for women.
